MLB All Star Game

Looking forward to the all-star game tonight. Can't wait to see what the game has to offer. Will write an article about it tonight. See you then.

So after listening to the game and not watching it(yes I know that sucks), but you have to do what you have to do, what a pitchers duel it was. The American League pitching staff retired 18 straight batters, starting with the final out in the second inning, after surrendering the lead to the National League, and this fantastic pitching allowed the AL to finally take the lead. Then with arguably the games three greatest closers, the AL shut the door on the NL with Mariano Rivera pitching a perfect ninth to preserve the win.

The city of St. Louis was an amazing and gracious host for the 80th All-Star game. It was amazing to see how all the players were absolutely raving about the city, the stadium, and maybe most of all the fans. St. Louis may be the greatest baseball town in America, and I believe the fans throughout the weekend and into Monday and Tuesday showed everyone why. The fans here are so knowledgeable of the game, and no matter what team it was for, if there was a play of note, they cheered out of sheer appreciation. Then there was Albert Pujols. While he did not have a great game, going 0-3, and making an error, the fans gave him an arousing, standing ovation during the introductions, for every plate appearance, and then when he was taken out of the game, shows not only the knowledge, but the loyalty that these fans in St. Louis have.

The games MVP was Carl Crawford, and while choosing one was very difficult, as several players did a little here and a little there, it was Crawford's single in the fifth that set up the tying run, and his catch in the bottom of the eighth robbing Brad Hawpe of a home run, certainly were the biggest single difference makers in the game. While the pitching of the AL down the stretch was ultimately what secured the victory, Crawford did what was needed to allow the pitching to shut it down.

Rock and Roll Sports Fans!!!!!
